Das IGGB ist ein Zusammenschluss unabhängiger Experten mit langjähriger Erfahrung und interdisziplinärer Kompetenz. Wir sind Wissenschaftler, Journalisten, Praktiker und engagierte Mitdenker aus einer Vielzahl von Disziplinen. Der Verein wird durch die folgenden Vorstandsmitglieder vertreten:

Mathias Bonk ist Professor für Globale Gesundheit an der Akkon Hochschule für Humanwissenschaften und als selbstständiger Berater im Bereich der Globalen Gesundheit, u.a. für das WHO Regionalbüro für Europa tätig. Er ist Facharzt für Kinder- und Jugendmedizin und hat ein Masterstudium in Internationaler Gesundheit an der Universität Heidelberg absolviert. Von 2010 bis 2014 hat er den World Health Summit in Berlin und das damit verbundene M8 Alliance Netzwerk als Programmdirektor maßgeblich mitaufgebaut. Im Auftrag der WHO hat er 2020/2021 als Koordinator und Analyst das Independent Panel on Pandemic Preparedness and Response unterstützt. Seine besonderen Interessen liegen im Bereich der multidisiplinären Zusammenarbeit und der globalen Gesundheits-Governance, mit Schwerpunkt WHO.

Mathias Bonk is a Professor of Global Health at the Akkon University of Human Sciences and an independent consultant in the field of global health, working for the WHO Regional Office for Europe, among others. He is a specialist in pediatrics and adolescent medicine and holds a master’s degree in international health from the University of Heidelberg. From 2010 to 2014, he played a key role in establishing the World Health Summit in Berlin and the associated M8 Alliance network as program director. On behalf of the WHO, he supported the Independent Panel on Pandemic Preparedness and Response in 2020/2021 as coordinator and analyst. His particular interests lie in the areas of multidisciplinary cooperation and global health governance, with a focus on the WHO.

Philipp Endler ist Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Institute for Research in International Assistance (IRIA) der Akkon Hochschule für Humanwissenschaften und unterstützt mit Unified For Health e.V. die Weiterbildung von Studentinnen und Studenten im Rahmen von Austauschen und Seminaren. Er studierte International Health Sciences mit einer Vertiefung in Gesundheitsökonomie und Gesundheitspolitik in Fulda und Oslo, in welchen er konstant den interkulturellen Austausch suchte. Den Kern seiner Arbeit sieht er in genau diesem Austausch, sowohl zwischen Kulturen, als auch zwischen Disziplinen, um so systematische Verbesserungen für Gesundheitssysteme entwickeln zu können.

Philipp Endler is a Research Associate at the Institute for Research in International Assistance(IRIA) at the Akkon Hochschule, Johanniter University of Applied Sciences, and supports Unified For Health e.V. in the continuous education of university students through exchanges and seminars. He studied International Health Sciences with a partial focus in health economics and health politics in Fulda and Oslo, where he constantly seeked intercultural exchanges. He sees exactly this exchange, both interculturally and interdisciplinary, as the core of his work in order to develop systematic improvements for health(care) systems.

Fiona Hutton studierte Internationale Not- und Katastrophenhilfe an der Akkon University of Human Sciences mit Spezialisierung auf Globale Gesundheit. Derzeit absolviert sie einen Masterstudiengang in Epidemiologie an der London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine und ist gleichzeitig als Studienvertreterin ihres Studiengangs und als studentische Verbindungsperson für das MARCH-Zentrum der Universität tätig. Fiona arbeitet bei Elucid, einem globalen Gesundheits-Startup, das Gesundheitsprogramme in landwirtschaftlichen Lieferketten implementiert, als Communications und Research Associate. In ihrer Freizeit engagiert sie sich ehrenamtlich für die AIDS-Stiftung Potsdam, betreibt einen Bildungspodcast und unterstützt die Durchführung von Workshops für Schülerinnen und Schüler. Darüber hinaus ist sie Juniorbotschafterin des Universal Scientific Education and Research Network.

Fiona Hutton studied International Emergency and Disaster Relief at Akkon University of Human Sciences, with a specialisation in Global Health. Now, she is studying a Master’s degree in Epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, simultaneously taking on the roles as Student Representative for her course, and Student Liaison Offier for the MARCH centre at the university. Fiona works at Elucid, a global health startup which implements health programs in agricultural supply chains, as a Communications and Research Associate. She also volunteers for the AIDS Foundation Potsdam in her free time, running an educational podcast and helping conduct workshops for school students, and is a Junior Ambassador for the Universal Scientific Education and Research Network.

Omar Khaled Sahrai ist Soziologe und lehrt an der Akkon Hochschule für Humanwissenschaften in den Studiengängen Internationale Not- und Katastrophenhilfe sowie Global Health mit besonderem Fokus auf Katastrophensoziologie, Postkolonialismus sowie internationale Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung. Er war bei der Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) für die Länder Afghanistan, Pakistan und Ghana im Kontext Migration und Entwicklung zuständig. Er arbeitete in diversen Kontexten zu Afghanistan, u.a. als Leiter des Institut für Afghanistanstudien e.V.

Omar Khaled Sahrai is a sociologist and teaches at the Akkon University of Human Sciences in the courses International Emergencyand Disaster relief and Global Health, with a special focus on catastrophy-sociology, postcolonial studies, as well as international cooperation and development. He was responsible for Afghanistan, Pakistan and Ghana in the context of migration and development at he German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ). He worked in diverse contexts on Afghanistan, among other things as  Global Health programs, with a particular focus on disaster sociology, postcolonialism, and international cooperation and development. He was responsible for migration and development in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Ghana at the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ). He has worked in various contexts related to Afghanistan, including as director of the Institute for Afghanistan Studies.

Timo Ulrichs ist Facharzt für Mikrobiologie und Infektionsepidemiologe. Am Max-Planck-Institut für Infektionsbiologie in Berlin beschäftigte er sich mit Fragen der Tuberkulose.  Am Bundesministerium für Gesundheit war er als Referent u.a. für den Seuchenschutz und die Influenzapandemieplanung zuständig. Praktische Tätigkeiten führten ihn u.a. nach Frankreich, in die USA und Südafrika. Zudem ist er seit 2001 in wissenschaftlichen Kooperationsprojekten in Osteuropa aktiv, insbesondere in Russland, Georgien und der Republik Moldau. 

Timo Ulrichs is a specialist in microbiology and infectious disease epidemiology. At the Max Planck Institute for Infection Biology in Berlin, he worked on tuberculosis issues. At the Federal Ministry of Health, he was responsible for disease control and influenza pandemic planning, among other things. His practical experience has taken him to France, the USA, and South Africa, among other countries. Since 2001, he has also been involved in scientific cooperation projects in Eastern Europe, particularly in Russia, Georgia, and the Republic of Moldova.
